Lumina

London-based vocalist and sound artist Kate Fleur Young joins forces with record producer, field recordist and immersive audio artist Frequent Traveller (Steve Spiro) for a new artist collaboration project called “Lumina”.

Young has presented her work at venues including the Barbican, Alexandra Palace and EartH Hackney, alongside installations at the Saatchi Gallery, the V&A and The Strand. She has also created soundscapes for Marshmallow Laser Feast, received support from BBC Radio 6 Music's Mary Anne Hobbs and was selected as a finalist in Polygon's Emerging Artist competition.

Steve Spiro brings decades of studio experience to the collaboration. After producing and remixing artists including Pet Shop Boys, Talk Talk, Imagination, East 17 and The Farm, alongside a successful career in House Music and chart production, he has spent recent years reinventing himself as Frequent Traveller. Travelling across continents to capture the sounds of nature, ancient cultures and sacred spaces, his work combines immersive field recordings with finely crafted electronic production, reflecting a belief in sound's ability to transport, reconnect and transform.
